With great performances from Page and Dafoe and technology and artistry to match from Quantic Dream, Beyond: Two Souls is another big step for cinematic gaming. At times it might be a step too far, constraining the gaming elements so that the player doesnt quite feel in control, but theres more than enough compensation in the strong story, great characters and interesting situations. Beyond: Two Souls isnt always a game you feel you have to play, but as an experience it's practically unmissable.

What Is Game? | Only Speaking Professionally

OnlySP writes - "Is Beyond: Two Souls game? Beyond: Two Souls released this week, and, as pretty much every single time a piece of interactive entertainment that doesnt involve angry men with guns releases the question of is this A Game? raised its head. Is Beyond: Two Souls a video game? Sure, it has a main character, and a story (well, a story), and it has interactivity. But does pressing X to Jason count as playing? If you believe a decent slice of those ever insightful users on Metacritic, no, its not a game. And because it is not A Game, how can it get full points out of ten (as if that were some gold standard of Official Gamedom) and be the paragon of the format?"

FIFA 14 drops to No.2, with Pokemon X & Y new at No.3 and No.4.

Both GTA 5 and FIFA 14 have now enjoyed two weeks at No.1.

Nintendo's Pokemon X and Pokemon Y make their debuts at No.3 and No.4, respectively, with the games more than doubling the week one total of last year's Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.

PS3 exclusive Beyond: Two Souls is also a new entry at No.5, but fails to match the No.1 chart debut of Heavy Rain back February 2010.

Elsewhere NIS America's Dragon's Crown is new at No19 and Mind Candy's Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed begins its life at No28.

Review: Beyond: Two Souls (Quarter Disorder)

Added: 14.10.2013 8:18 | 6 views | 0 comments

Beyond: Two Souls is David Cages and Quantic Dreams best work. Jodie Holmes is such a amazing character and her development is what makes Beyond special. An experimental game like Two Souls-with an entire focus on the narrative, the high-quality actors, remarkable production values and all the money behind it-is a rare oddity next to most other mainstream titles. Beyonds strong acting from the perfect selection of talent and Cages focus on a relatable human story creates both a moving and memorable experience.
